EPA Children's Environmental Health Program

This research provides a unique opportunity to contribute to OCHP efforts by applying science (e.g., review of the scientific literature) to inform children’s health impacts of EPA regulations and risk assessment. Further, the project provides training in current and emerging children’s environmental health issues with an opportunity to develop projects to contribute to the resolution of one or more of these issues. Samsung Internships

Samsung Internships are offered to college students in a wide variety of both technical and non-technical positions. The Samsung Summer Internship program is designed to introduce college students to full-time roles within the semiconductor industry. Summer intern candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Computer Science, or a non-technical degree in the area of the internship. A GPA of 3.0 or above is required. Interns work full time hours June – August (Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm).

Library of Congress Internships

Library of Congress Internships are offered to college students throughout the Library of Congress. Summer internships are available to both undergraduate and graduate students who want an opportunity to gain professional work experience. There are many internships, fellowships, and volunteer program opportunities throughout the Library. Interested students may search the web site by choosing their areas of interest. Positions can be either paid or unpaid. Summer internships can range from 10 weeks up to 12 months. Work schedules can be either part-time or full-time.

NOAA Internships

NOAA Internships are offered through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a scientific agency within the United States Department of Commerce. Summer internships are available to both undergraduate and graduate students, and high school students. The NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office, in partnership with the Chesapeake Research Consortium, offers several paid summer internships that focus on scientific field research to resource management and policy. It is for college-level students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study.

Wildlife Prairie Park Internships

Wildlife Prairie Park Internships offer paid, summer work opportunities for college students who love working outdoors. Internships are paid and also offer housing. Summer internships give students an opportunity to work with a variety of education animals (birds of prey, reptiles, and small mammals) during their internship program. Interns work 40 hours a week minimum, from May - August. Interns are also responsible for assisting staff with programming, events, home school, summer programming, boy scouts/girl scouts merit badge days and day camps.

Smithsonian Institution Internships

Smithsonian Institution Internships are offered across a wide array of disciplines and departments. Internships are available for college juniors, seniors and graduate students. Students should have an interest in history and culture and the desire to work within a museum environment. Some Smithsonian internships pay stipends and others do not. Stipends are given to help pay for living expenses during the internship. The amount varies according to the internship position.

AAMC Undergraduate Research Programs

AAMC Undergraduate Research Programs are available for college undergraduates with a strong background in science. Summer internships in research are offered to students considering a research career. Summer Undergraduate Research Programs are offered at universities, hospitals, medical centers, research foundations, and clinics around the nation. All offer summer internships that generally run from the end of May through the beginning of August. Each program has its own eligibility requirements but all are designed for currently-enrolled undergraduates.

NEIWPCC Internships

NEIWPCC Internships are available to college students interested in working in an outdoor environment and learning about water quality and safety. Interns will work as Lake Champlain Boat Launch Stewards from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Lake Champlain is a natural freshwater lake in North America, mainly within the borders of the states of Vermont and New York. Summer internship interns will be responsible for greeting visitors to Lake Champlain, gather lake-user information and even be trained to conduct vessel inspections. Interns work eight-hour days for approximately thirty-two hours per week at select boat launches around Lake Champlain.

SRP Internships

SRP Internships are offered through the Salt River Project (SRP) Agricultural Improvement and Power District in the state of Arizona. Candidates should have an interest in working within a large supplier of public power and water utility. Applicants must be attending an accredited college or university and major in the area for which they want to intern. Some internship positions may have specific requirements regarding skill level and experience relating to the internship. Summer internships may be available, as well as Spring and Fall.

Oregon Zoo Internships

Oregon Zoo Internships are offered to college students in the summer, as well as Fall/Winter/Spring terms. The internships are unpaid and offer students hands-on experience in many areas. Summer internships are available in Research and Conservation (upper division and graduate students), Assist Wild Life Live! program (for undergraduate or graduate level college students with course work in biology or zoology), and Veterinary Externship (for fourth year veterinary students). All applications for internships will be subject to a background check.

Department of Homeland Security Internships

Department of Homeland Security Internships are offered to high school students as well as current undergraduate and graduate students. Several internship programs are offered that expose talented students to the broad national security mission of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Secretary’s Honors Program Cyber Student Volunteer Initiative is for current undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a program of study in a cybersecurity-related field. The Pathways Programs offer federal internships for students from high school through post-graduate school and to careers for recent graduates.

EPA Student Internships

EPA Student Internships are available to high school students and college students. Internship positions range from administrative/clerical positions as well as technical positions in areas such as life sciences, program or policy analysis, and engineering. Summer internships are paid opportunities for students to learn more about the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Summer internships are offered in Washington, D.C. as well as in regional offices, labs and research centers throughout the nation. Internships are paid, although some may be volunteer.

Marineland Internships

Marineland Internships are offered to college students and graduates who want to gain valuable experience in their field of interest. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and be able to commit to a 3-month internship. Internships are unpaid and interns are responsible for their own food, housing and transportation. Summer internships are available in animal training and in education. Summer internships run from the middle of May until the middle of August.

NREL Internships

NREL Internships are available at The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located in Golden, Colorado. NREL is the United States' primary laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development. Summer internships are available as well as internships offered throughout the year. Applicants must have been enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. All candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.

James E. Webb Internship Program for Minority Undergraduate Juniors, Seniors and Graduate Students in Business and Public Administration

This internship is designed to help minority students who are attending college and interested in a career in business or public administration. It is open to minority students who are college juniors, seniors or graduate students. The internship is at the Smithsonian Institute and is for a duration of ten weeks. Interns will receive a stipend of $550 per week and may also be eligible for financial assistance with travel expenses. Interested students must be citizens of the U.S. or permanent U.S. residents. Interns may work at any one of the Smithsonian Institution's offices, museums, and research institutes.

EOG Resources Internships
