NREL Internships are available at The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), located in Golden, Colorado. NREL is the United States' primary laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development.

Summer internships are available as well as internships offered throughout the year. Applicants must have been enrolled as a full-time student in a degree granting program, or graduated in the past 12 months from an accredited institution. All candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.

Requirements vary among internships, with positions open for students from the junior/senior undergraduate level to graduate level students. Most interns hired for summer internships work 40 hours per week during the internship period. Applicants must have an interest in renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is a government-owned, contractor-operated facility, and is funded through the United States Department of Energy (DOE). It was established in 1974 under the Jimmy Carter administration.
