Requires foundation in statics, dynamics, materials, and thermodynamics. Responsibilities include mechanical system concept development, detailed design, analysis using tools like SolidWorks and ANSYS Workbench, creation of drawings, understanding of ASME 14.5-2009 standards, and documentation generation.
