Global Ties U.S. Internships

Global Ties U.S. Internships are offered to rising undergraduate juniors through graduate level students interested in working within the non-profit industry. Summer internships are available, as well as internships in the Spring and Fall. Students must be able to work for one academic semester.

Internships are unpaid, volunteer positions; however, students may arrange to receive academic credit for their internship. Interns who complete their semester internship will receive a stipend to help defray internship-related expenses, including transportation costs to and from the Global Ties U.S. office.

Summer interns and other interns will learn valuable skills they can use in other employment settings. Internships are offered in the areas of communications, events, and public diplomacy. To apply, interested students must submit a cover letter, résumé or CV, and the contacts for at least two references. Application may be made through an online application form.

Global Ties U.S. is a non-partisan, non-profit organization established in 1961 to promote excellence in citizen diplomacy. It is based in Washington, D.C. It's function is to design and implement professional programs, provide cultural activities, and offer home hospitality opportunities for foreign leaders, specialists, and international scholars participating in the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program and other exchange programs.
