Ionis Pharmaceuticals Intern Program is open to high school graduates who are currently enrolled in a U.S. undergraduate degree program. The internship will enhance students' knowledge with hands-on experience in their field of interest.

Internships are offered in the areas of Research, Development, Corporate Communications and Business, as well as science-related fields such as Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Toxicology, Pharmacokinetics, and Clinical Development.

Interns work full-time, 40 hours per week during their internship. They are guided and mentored throughout their internship by a practicing professional. Students who live outside the work site may be eligible for housing assistance. Applicants must have good communication skills and be able to work independently and within a group. They must also have good organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ionis Pharmaceuticals is a drug discovery and development pharmaceutical company based in Carlsbad, California. The company was founded in 1989 by Stanley Crooke, a former GlaxoSmithKline head of research.
