CarMax Accounting and Finance internships give college students hands-on business experience while they are still in school. This is a paid internship position for students pursuing degrees in business, accounting and finance.

Each intern will have a mentor to guide them throughout their internship experience. No fetching coffee with this position! Interns will be very involved in decision making, working on projects, and contributing ideas and opinions. They will receive pay for their work and develop important business skills at the same time.


Internships are available in many CarMax departments, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable, tax, treasury, budget accounting and more. Students who qualify may speak with company recruiters during campus visits to learn more, or search for open positions online.

CarMax is a Fortune 500 company and the largest used-car retailer in the U.S. The company opened in 1993 and now has 147 locations. They are headquartered in Virginia. In 2014, they were listed as one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For.
