NOAA National Marine Sanctuaries Internships
National Marine Sanctuaries Internships are available to high school students age 15 and older. Students interested in ocean conservation and management who want to work near Washington, D.C. are encouraged to apply.
Interns will work on a variety of projects at the headquarters for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Marine Sanctuaries headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland. Students may work part-time or full time; internships are 6 weeks in duration.
Interns will learn much about marine life and ocean conservation during their internship experience. They will attend events, lectures, conferences and receptions that will provide them with career options to explore and networking opportunities. In addition, they will be able to explore Washington, D.C. through easy access via the metro system.
To apply, students need to send a cover letter, resume and writing sample. The internships are offered by The Office of National Marine Sanctuaries whose purpose is to protect an area of marine protected waters extending from Washington state to Florida and beyond, an area totaling 170,000 square miles.
