WVTF/RADIO IQ Internships
WVTF/RADIO IQ Internships are designed for Virginia Tech students interested in broadcasting. Students who are juniors, seniors or graduate school students may apply.
The internship gives students hands-on experience in a wide variety of radio broadcasting functions. Students must have strong academic credentials and experience in audio production, news writing, interviewing and reporting, and studio and field audio equipment. They must be familiar with social media and web content management.
College students majoring in communications, journalism, broadcasting or other related fields are encouraged to apply. Students should note when applying if they have prior experience at a campus radio station, television lab, web site or student newspaper.
Internships are offered in the spring and the fall semesters. Interns will receive academic credit. Summer internship are sponsored by the Virginia Association of Broadcasters and are paid internships lasting 8 weeks. Students applying should note their area of interest, including news reporting and broadcasting, operations, engineering, marketing and public relations, finance and customer service.
