There are approximately 45 internship positions available each year.

Students may apply for any number of internships. The summer internships provide valuable experience in the public sector and an opportunity to gain an understanding of how the Red Cross works on a local, national and international level. Students will also have an opportunity to work in the nation's capital, where they will be able to develop their professional skills and grow important networking contacts.

The American Red Cross is one of the oldest humanitarian organizations in the U.S., dating back to 1881. The organization has provided food, shelter and medical assistance during disasters and wars. The Red Cross continues to focus in the areas of blood collection and distribution, support for the military, help during disasters, and education in the areas of health and safety. Their mission remains the same as in the beginning--helping people in need throughout the United States.
