National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke's Summer Program in the Neurological Sciences
National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke's Summer Program in the Neurological Sciences offers a unique program for high school students as well as undergraduate, graduate, and medical students to work in a neuroscience research center. Students will receive top-notch training from leading scientists in the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke Division of Intramural Research.
Students may work at one of the labs located in Bethesda and Rockville, Maryland and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Students interested in a career in the biomedical sciences or clinical research in the neurological sciences will find this a rewarding and valuable summer work experience. It will provide an opportunity for them to combine their classroom knowledge with hands-on, practical experience.
Students will participate in meetings, attend seminars and lectures, and learn about the latest health advances in brain and nervous system research. They will present their research findings at the end of the program to a National Institutes of Health panel.
The program is offered by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes (NINDS) whose work is dedicated to research on brain and nervous system disorders and finding treatments for neurological diseases.
