The White House Internship Program

The White House Internship Program and Jobs
The White House Internship Program provides internship opportunities for young students 18 years of age or older across the U.S. who are interested in careers in public service. Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate two-year or four-year college or enrolled in graduate school. It is also open to veterans who have graduated from high school and served in active duty two years prior to applying.

The internship offers Spring, Summer and Fall internships, each having its own deadline for submitting applications. The duration of the internship is approximately 12 weeks long, depending on the time of year, and students work full-time Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. No housing is included, and the internship is non-paid. Students will have an opportunity to work in one of the many Presidential departments.

The internship is a non-paid program but gives students an opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and strengthen their leadership skills. Students who are preparing for a career in public service will be able to gain hands-on experience in the executive offices of the White House.

Students applying will be required to complete two essay questions. They also need to submit a one-page resume and two letters of recommendation. Application materials must be submitted online only. All applicants must be U.S. citizens.

The location is usually in Washington, D.C.
