American Enterprise Institute Internships
American Enterprise Institute Internships are offered to college students in the Fall, Winter and Spring. These unpaid internships are for experience in the areas of economic studies, social and cultural studies, foreign and defense studies as well as business experience in communications, fundraising, public relations, or nonprofit management.
The internships provide college students hands-on experience in real work settings. They may be involved in communications with Capitol Hill or learning how non-profit organizations operate. Interns may also help with conferences and special events, or write articles for the company web site. Many positions are available for students to choose that meet their interest and skills level.
Each semester AEI offers 40-50 internships to college students. Housing is not included; however, AEI provides much information on student housing for interns. Housing varies from apartments in the D.C., Virginia and Maryland areas to local university dorms. Eligibility requirements include a grade point average of 3.0 or above and a strong interest in public policy.
The internships are sponsored by American Enterprise Institute, a non-profit organization formed in 1938 in Washington D.C. focused on improving free enterprise and foreign policy. The organization is funded by donations and grants from corporations, foundations and private donors.
