The Nurse Extern I, under RN supervision, provides direct patient care following nursing department protocols, with duties including assisting hospitalized patients and other assigned tasks. Requirements include enrollment in an accredited RN program, completion of first clinical, and proficiency in basic nursing tasks, with hospital experience preferred but not required. BLS certification from the American Heart Association within two weeks of employment is necessary. The work schedule is flexible, per diem, and as needed.
