The Nation Institute Internships
The Nation Institute offers internships to college students interested in a career in publishing or journalism. It is open to students who have completed their junior year of college.

A total of 12 internships are offered during three internship sessions a year. Internship positions include editorial and web editorial in either New York or Washington, D.C. Interns will work full time during the internship from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. five days a week. Interns are paid and also receive reimbursement for transportation.



Interns work at The Nation, a weekly magazine on politics, culture, books and the arts or its web-based magazine, TheNation.com; or the non-profit Nation Institute, the media center responsible for research on topics for publication. To apply, students needs to include a cover letter that describes their interest in the internship program. The must also include two writing samples and two letters of recommendation.

The Nation Institute offers internship programs in the Fall, Spring and Summer. The organization publishes information that has a significant impact on the most urgent social and political issues of the day.
