Teach For America-Goldman Sachs Summer Internship Program
Teach For America-Goldman Sachs Summer Internship Program offers up to twenty paid summer internships to African Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans who have also been accepted into the Teach For America corps. The internship is available for a broad range of disciplines including liberal arts, applied math, sciences, engineering, and others.
The purpose of the 8-10 week internship program is to offer an opportunity for interested applicants to become effective advocates in their communities for education equity. Those accepted into the summer internship program receive s $5,000 stipend and commit to a two-year program of teaching within high-need communities. The program targets 46 communities nationwide where our corps members, alumni, and staff members work with local leaders and community members to students in these areas reach their full potential.
The internship is located in New York or New Jersey. Some applicants are teachers but this is not a requirement. The program looks for candidates who have the leadership qualities found in successful teachers and who have the desire to join an organization that strives to make a difference for children, families and communities.
Teach for America was formed in 1990. Since its beginning, it has grown to 33,000 participants, helping more than 3 million children nationwide.
