These positions are located near Washington, D.C. They are voluntary positions that offer great experience for college students to work in a non-profit, health-related organization. The Legal Resources intern will provide legal referrals to inquiries received on the NAMI Information HelpLine. This position requires a student who is currently in law school or has received their degree in law.
Information Specialist Interns will respond to telephone calls and emails from the public, share information on recovery programs, and provide referrals to community resources. All interns must be willing to commit to a 4-6 month internship, working four hours per week at the NAMI National Office in Arlington, VA.
NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, a national non-profit mental health organization that provides help for Americans affected by mental illness. They have offices throughout the states and volunteers who work to provide education on mental illness and help in the form of support groups and referrals to treatment providers.
