Subaru Advanced Internship in Manufacturing Program
Subaru Advanced Internship in Manufacturing Program is open to students in Indiana with an interest in Computer Integrated Manufacturing. The internship program results in students being able to earn a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology from Purdue College of Technology that is paid for by Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA).
The internship program includes a combination of classroom education with hands-on work experience. Interns begin by taking classes in advanced manufacturing technologies in electrical controls, robotics, mechanical systems, programmable logic controllers, hydraulics and pneumatics at Vincennes University.
In their second semester, students will work and take classes at the SIA Manufacturing plant in Lafayette. Classes are two days a week at Purdue University's College of Technology Lafayette site, located at the SIA plant. This will lead to a Vincennes's Associates degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
After completing this phase of their internship, interns can qualify for a full-time position at SIA. After six months of full-time employment, they qualify to continue their education at the Purdue College of Technology to earn a Purdue Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, paid for by SIA.
Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA) is the home of Subaru production in North America, including the Subaru Legacy and Outback. SIA also produces the Toyota Camry for Toyota.
