Safeway Internships are available to college juniors and seniors who are looking for a summer work experience in their field of study. All internships are held in Pleasanton, California.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university in the U.S. A grade point average of 3.0 or above is required. Internships are generally offered in Supply Chain, Marketing, IT, Financial Analysis and Planning and other departments.


Interns will work on real company projects and learn from senior executives and other management teams. They will also tour manufacturing and distribution centers to increase their knowledge of the retail industry. Candidates must have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Safeway is a supermarket chain which was acquired by Albertsons in 2014. It has more than 2,400 stores and over 250,000 employees, making it the second largest supermarket chain in North America.
