American Association of People with Disabilities Internship Program
AAPD offers internships during the Fall, Spring and Summer to qualified students and recent graduates who have disabilities. Internships can be at AAPD offices, or on Capital Hill. It is specifically designed for college students with disabilities.
The organization seeks to give students who have various types of disabilities a 10-week paid summer internship opportunity. They may choose to work in Congressional offices, federal agencies, nonprofit and for-profit organizations. The program includes a living stipend, housing and travel to and from Washington, DC.
Interns who choose to work at AAPD offices will find openings in areas that include communications and policies, administrative, workplace and leadership initiatives, and more. Students applying must plan to attend or currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing either a Bachelors or Masters degree in the field for which they are applying.
The internship program is offered through the AAPD. It is funded through generous donations from Walmart, the Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation (MEAF), and the May and Stanley Smith Charitable Trust.
The location is usually in DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
