Occidental Petroleum Corporation Summer Intern Program offers college students majoring in engineering an opportunity to gain experience in their field and get paid for it while still in school. They will be able to use their skills in a real life environment.

Internships are offered primarily to students with educational backgrounds in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Petrochemical, and Electrical Engineering; Geophysics and Geology; Land Management; and Health, Environment and Safety (HES). Internships are 10-12 weeks in duration during the summer.


Interns are assigned a summer project that must be completed and presented at the end of the internship period. The hands-on experience and mentoring with company professionals give students a valuable work experience and a stepping stone to a permanent industry career.

Occidental Petroleum Corporation (Oxy) is a Houston-based oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in the United States, the Middle East, North Africa, and South America. They are one of the largest oil producers in the state of Texas, and the largest oil and natural gas producer in the state of California.
