J. Craig Venter Institute Internship Program

J. Craig Venter Institute Internship Program is open to high school students as well as college undergraduate and graduate students. Internship positions are available in science as well as communications, library and environmental health and safety areas. Internships are offered during the summer and during semesters. The Summer Internship Program is a full-time employment program with students working 40 hours per week. The Semester Internship Program is a 12-week, part-time employment program with students working no more than 20 hours per week. Students are paid but are required to make their own housing arrangements.

Greening Youth Foundation HBCUI Internship Program offers paid internships for HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Universities) students around the country. The internships are through the National Park Service and U.S. Department of the Interior. The internships are paid, 10-week programs, including housing, that provides students a hands-on work experience at one of 12 National Park Services around the country. Positions may include facilities management, security, museum, historical research, ranger, business management, marketing and public relations, and much more.

Roosevelt University Entrepreneurship Academy

Roosevelt University Entrepreneurship Academy gives high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to learn more about entrepreneurship and owning a business. The academy is open to qualified students with strong math, science and technology skills and an interest in entrepreneurship. The academy is offered by the Roosevelt University Walter E. Heller College of Business and consists of a five-day, green-tech focused training session that teaches students the skills necessary to become high-tech business entrepreneurs. Sessions are taught by Walter E. Heller College of Business faculty and staff as well as industry business leaders.

Interns work schedule can range from 3 days a week to about 20 hours a week. Internships can last a semester or up to one year. Qualified students may be pursuing either a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accredited college or university. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
