The Alliance Theater Internship Program

The Alliance Theater Internship Program is open to college students and recent graduates who are actively pursuing careers in professional theater. The internships provide hands-on experience in the day-to-day workings of a professional theater.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Some positions offer modest stipends, but most positions are unpaid and do not include housing or housing stipends. Students may inquire with their college or university to see if academic credit is available. Applicants must have excellent public speaking skills, research and writing skills, and strong computer and organization skills.
Summer internships are offered, as well as internships that last one year. Internships are offered in the areas of education and literary. Literary internships run from September to May, with interns working 20-30 hours per week. Work for Literary interns includes reading and copying scripts, managing research, and some writing. Summer internships consist of work as classroom Teaching Assistants for the Summer Drama Day Camps.

The Alliance Theater is considered the leading producing theater in the Southeast, creating shared theater experiences for diverse people. The theater includes artists, administrators, and business and civic leaders devoted to theater, arts, and arts education.
