New York Historical Society Internship Program offers full-time and part-time internships in both the museum and the library during the fall, spring, and summer. Applications for summer internships begin in February and close in April each year.

Whether it is summer internships or internships in the fall and spring, interns will be involved in creative exhibition layouts and doing research with curators. It is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain professional experience and career development while building professional relationships. The New York Historical Society also offers internships for high school students.

Applicants will either be paid through a stipend or receive academic credit, depending on the intern’s school requirements. To apply, students must send a cover letter that indicates what position interests them, a resume, a writing sample of 5-10 pages, and two letters of recommendation.

The New York Historical Society was founded in 1864 and is the oldest museum in New York City. This cultural institution is dedicated to fostering research, presenting history and art exhibitions, and public programs that reveal the influence that history has had on the world of today.

The location is usually in NEW YORK.
