D. R. Horton Internship Program is open to students pursuing an undergraduate or Master’s degree as full-time students at an accredited college or university. Eligible students must be sophomores, juniors or seniors in order to apply. Internships are paid. Internships are offered in the field of Construction Science, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Human Resource Management, Finance, and Accounting. Applicants must have an excellent academic record, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with management at different levels. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Edison International Internships are available to students who are actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. Applicants must have at least one more semester or quarter remaining after completing their internship and returning to school. All internships are paid. Candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or above. Internships are offered in the areas of accounting, finance, business management, engineering, marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, information technology, and computer science. Interns are given important work and are involved in many company projects. Their ideas and contributions are encouraged and valued.

Candidates ideally should have 2-3 years of prior work experience, a desire for a career in retail, and a passion to solve analytical problems and strategic challenges in a corporate environment. Students do not need to major in a specific field in order to apply.

CenterPoint Energy Internships

CenterPoint Energy Internships are offered to undergraduate college students in the area of engineering. Students majoring in electrical, civil, mechanical, industrial and computer engineering may apply. Candidates must be currently enrolled as a full-time (12 hours) student at an accredited university or college. A GPA of 3.0 or above is required. Juniors and seniors are preferred.

These are paid internships which also include a housing stipend for students moving more than 50 miles from their place of residence. Candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or above. Students must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, or can also be a recent graduate. Internship hours are flexible, with interns working 20-40 hours per week. Positions are offered in the areas of accounting, finance, marketing, engineering, design, graphic design, and more.

Internships last 10-12 weeks and are offered during the summer from May - August. Candidates must be sophomores, juniors or seniors working towards a Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.

Masco Corporation Internships are offered to both undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree. Internships are available in the areas of accounting and finance. Internships are available during the summer or between semesters. Applicants must have completed up to two years of introductory coursework in accounting or finance, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. A GPA of 3.0 is required.

It can be because they want to earn more money to help pay college tuition, they want to 'test drive' a career they are interested in pursuing to see if it is right for them, or they may be in a field that values much experience. Whatever the reason, there are many work opportunities available, including internships, externships, co-ops, and fellowships. It can be real confusing trying to decide which one is right for you.
