United Nations Internship Program

United Nations Internship Program
United Nations Internship Program is open to students who are in their final year of a Bachelor’s program or within one year after graduation from a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. program. Internships are offered in the U.S. and internationally.

Internships are available in the areas of database development, economic affairs, legal affairs, environmental and political affairs, as well as many positions within administration. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship; fluency in French is a plus. Although internships are currently unpaid, there has been much discussion to change this.

Internships last anywhere from 2-6 months. Interns must begin their assignment prior to or within one year of graduation. The internship program gives students an excellent opportunity to experience life inside the U.N. on a day-to-day basis. Applicants may search and apply for internship positions online.

The United Nations was established in 1945 after WWII. It's purpose is to maintain international peace and security, promote the rights of humans, foster social and economic development, protect the environment, and offer aid in cases of famine, natural disaster, and armed conflict.
