Research Science Institute Summer Science and Engineering Program

Research Science Institute Summer Science and Engineering Program and Jobs
Research Science Institute Summer Science and Engineering Program is offered each year to the most accomplished high school students. The program takes place at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Each year, the program accepts 80 of the brightest high school students to join them in a summer of learning. The Research Science Institute (RSI) is offered at no cost to eligible students. RSI gives students a unique opportunity to apply their course work to real work in science and technology research.

The program begins with a week of intensive STEM classes followed by five weeks of research during which students will participate in science and technology projects under the guidance of experienced scientists and researchers. During the final week of RSI, students prepare written and oral presentations on their research projects.

The internship is offered by The Center for Excellence in Education, located in McLean, Virginia. The non-profit center offers programs that foster careers in science and technology for academically talented high school and college students.
