SHPE Foundation Scholar-Internship Programs and Jobs
SHPE Foundation Scholar-Internship Programs offer both a summer internship at a research facility AND a scholarship for the fall and spring semesters for Hispanic students. Students must be pursuing degrees in the areas of science, technology, engineering or mathematics.

Two different scholar-internship programs are available. The SHPE/CDM program is for students majoring in engineering, science or construction and can include chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, geotechnical, water resources, mechanical, and structural engineering, environmental systems, environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, geography and computer science. This program is offered in partnership with CDM Smith, a leading water, environment, transportation, energy and facilities firm.

The Freeport-McMoran Copper and Gold program offers undergraduate students an opportunity for an internship at the FMCG mining facility in Phoenix, Arizona. Both program awards include scholarship and internship awards as well as travel.

Funding for the scholar-internships comes from the SHPE Foundation who receives donations from federal, state, local and private grants and donations from corporations, foundations and other private donors. Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is a member-based, non-profit organization working to increase career opportunities for Hispanics in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math.
