NPR Internships offer opportunities in the winter/spring, summer and fall for undergraduate and graduate students interested in a career in the news media and broadcasting industry.

Positions are available in the areas of digital media, engineering, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, programming, news and information. Summer internships last 10 weeks, and fall and winter/spring internships last 16 weeks. Interns receive a stipend for internships. Deadlines for internship applications vary.


Students may apply online for up to three internships. Some positions may require writing samples. Students who have graduated within the past 12 months may also apply for an internship position.

National Public Radio (NPR) provides in-depth, quality news through the radio as well as Internet news updates and alerts, news blogs and streaming audio. Since 1971 they have provided national news coverage and currently reach 26 million listeners every week.
